A Better Campsite Would Be Where?

Country Map Wank

I have discovered this website called World 66, where you can generate a map of all the countries that you have been to. Of course it doesn't tell how long you might have actually been in a particular country.

For example I have been to Luxemburg, for a day. Or I have been to Northern Ireland, for 2 days. Of the bigger European countries, Portugal I went for 3 days, Netherlands 4 days, Slovenia 3 days but I still get to include them on my map.






A better map would be to show the cities you have been to. To travel anywhere to any country in the world you need to go to a big city at some point. Maybe they could create a list of countries and then cities with populations over 500,000 that you could tick off.

The problem with this though would be that Iceland would miss out all together as Reykjavik only has a population of 170,000. Maybe it should be big cities and capitals.

Nomadic Life Indeed

What can be more nomadic than the nomadic country itself .. Mongolia.

Unicode

One thing I have just leant is that you need to turn on Unicode with Safari on Mac OS X, otherwise it looks like jibberish.

Testing Out Cyrillic

I have just discovered the Cyrillic alphabet on my iBook, so I am testing out how well it works when you publish using it. Here goes.

Джереми Данлоп = My name
Москва = Moscow
Иркутск = Irkutsk
Улан-Батор = Ulaan Baator

Let's see if they work correctly.

Aspiring Me

I found this great travel journal blog today after a bit slack off from work. As you will see if you have a look, this guy is epitomising the true nomad lifestyle. Heading off cross country through central asia - the bastard.

Election night blues

Ah shit. It's Saturday night at 11pm and I have just logged on to see who has won the Aus federal election only to find out that f*#@^*# Johnny Howard has managed to con the ignorant-head-in-the-sand voters that seems to be living in my country now.

What is wrong with you people? Why can't you see what a devisive bastard he truly is? It just makes me really angry that no matter what he has done and lied about later that people actually still want him there.

Another 3 years of him (or Costello) to go. Ah shit! Not a great way to start off my rant and rave blog ... but then again, you have take the good with the bad.
